Who we are and what we stand for

The eXhaus eG was founded on 18th April 2026 by members of the 'eXhaus bleibt!' action alliance and the 'Zukunft im eXhaus e.V.' association. The association serves as a vehicle to prepare the cooperative. Although the eXhaus eG has emerged from the action alliance and the association, it remains independent and will be co-shaped by current and future members of the eXhaus eG. Our common goal: We will revive the eXhaus!

The eXhaus cooperative is solid, non-partisan, and financially stable. We are acquiring the building on a long lease, restoring it, and bringing it back to life, as before, but with a new spirit. The cooperative and the action alliance operate separately but share the same values and goals.

Human rights: for everyone, always, unconditionally.

Rights, fascist people, groups, parties have no place with us! Neither in the club nor in the cooperative. They do not use our premises. We clearly say no to fascist statements and anything that excludes or threatens people.

We are addressing the colonial past of the eXhaus. This includes symbolic steps, but above all: we are permanently embedding this examination in our work.

We all work from a humanist worldview. This excludes racism, antisemitism, ableism, homophobia, and transphobia. Any form of hatred against people has no place here!

We stand in solidarity with all those who are on the other side when social and democratic rights are curtailed. We stand in solidarity with everyone who does the same. We network with people and groups who share our goals. We will decide together whether to support local or national actors.

We are creating offers that are accessible to as many people as possible. The city has already installed two lifts – but inclusion means more than just physical access. The eXhaus will be a place where people of all generations can meet, participate, and experience culture.
